I am employed by the Hydraulics Research Center as a research engineer specialized in water resources management. I was graduated in 2000 from the Faculty of Civil Engineering – Khartoum University. Since graduation

I joined the Hydraulics Research Station/Center as an assistant research engineer where I had been involved in many conducted research activities related to river morphology in addition to hydrological studies on the Nile river system in Sudan. In 2005, I obtained my M Sc degree in water resources management from Luneburg University – Germany and I am now preparing to finalize my research work entitled “Allocation of the Blue Nile water resources with special emphasis to irrigation sector” for my Ph D degree at Water Management and Irrigation Institute – Gezira University.

I was appointed to lead the annual research project “The Sediment Monitoring Program in the Nile System and the Gezira Scheme” that is implemented by HRC–Sudan over the period 2012-2014. During Nov. 2013 - Dec. 2014 I was the national coordinator of the spate irrigation project in Sudan which was implemented in Gash spate irrigation system by HRC in collaboration with the UNESCO-IHE under the umbrella of IFAD fund.

Over the period Jan. 2015 – Dec. 2016, I was appointed as country project team leader of the research project “Harnessing floods to enhance livelihoods and ecosystem services in the Gash area” funded by CGIAR/IWMI. Currently, I am appointed as country project team leader of the research project “Africa to Asia - Testing Adaptation in Flood-Based Resource Management Project” funded by IFAD which is beging implemented over the period Apr. 2015 to Mar. 2017.

I have good experience in reporting of research findings with high capability of working with software packages as required by the research activities. I have also gained good experience in teaching, project management, coordination of seminars and short training courses on different levels.
