Yasir Mohamed O. Hageltom

Yasir Hageltom has received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (First class) from University of Khartoum in 2010. He graduated from the Master program in Water Science and Engineering, specialization: Hydroinformatics – Modelling and Information Systems for Water Management, from UNESCO-IHE, Delft, Netherlands in 2017. His M.Sc. research topic titled “Simulation and Optimization of Tekeze Atbara Reservoirs System”.

He has been working as a Researcher at the Hydraulics Research Center (HRC) since April 2012. During his time at HRC, he has been involved in many research projects, such as: Spate Irrigation Project: Hydrological Data Analysis in Gash River (sponsored by UNESCO-IHE and HRC), Smart-ICT for Weather and Water Information in Gash Rive Project (funded by IFAD) and Sediment monitoring program for the Blue Nile.
Hageltom has a wide experience covering different aspects of hydrology, sedimentation, water balance studies, water resources planning and management studies. He also has a good experience in field works, including: bathymetric survey, flow measurements and calibration of hydraulic structures.
